Native America - Navajo Nation
While living in New Mexico, one of my first clients was the Institute for American Indian Arts and the Museum of Native American Arts. It was there that I truly came to have an appreciation for Native culture and their many unique traditions. They are a culture and community, which is often misunderstood or misrepresented.
I have been most fortunate and grateful to have been welcomed into Pueblo and Navajo communities to capture various aspects of native life. Filled with incredible stories, a sense of who they are as a people and/or clan, a wicked sense of humor and a welcoming kindness, it is hard for me to say goodbye when a shoot is over. I miss the smiles, the laughter that permeates the air and of course some good old fry bread.
